6-year-old Mariama

After a recent surgery to correct her legs, her mother says she’s become more active, curious, and playful. “She enjoys things like playing with toys, spending time with friends outside…these are things she couldn’t do before.”

Healing from orthopedic surgery to correct her bowed legs was challenging for 6-year-old Mariama. After surgery, she had to undergo intense physical therapy for three months.

But she was strong and determined to get better.

For the first time in years, Mariama now walks and runs without pain. This newfound mobility has been exciting for her, as every step fills her with accomplishment and pride.
