Shortly after they learned to walk, Ousseynou and Assane’s legs began to bow. Their mother Awa didn’t know what was happening or what to do. With the closest hospital over an hour away, and no means to get there or afford care, hope seemed out of reach.
A nurse in their village heard about Mercy Ships arriving in Dakar and drove Awa and her twin boys to the registration and then to the Africa Mercy for the free surgery that would change their legs and lives forever.
