Two years ago, Estelle joined Mercy Ships in Cameroon as a day-crew translator. Today, she is a crewmember on the dental team. Planting seeds now for the future, she primarily works with children, educating them on healthy dental practices.
“Children’s brains are free to receive all of this information. In 20 years they will remember the lady from Mercy Ships who taught them how to brush their teeth,” Estelle explained. “They will keep it in their minds as they grow, and teach it to their kids, who will teach it to their kids, and so on. We are trying to raise a generation of people with good dental hygiene.”
