Crew Bio: Bobby Gane (AUS), Electrician
As an electrician I get to serve all over the ship, which is one of my favorite parts of the job. I get to go down to the engine room and help those guys take the motors apart, I get to go into the hospital and see the patients and the nurses and all the good work they’re doing, and I also get to the galley and laundry room.
Being here is a mixture of very fun and also very challenging. It’s my first time working on a ship so there are a lot of things I’m not used to. Sometimes I get stuck in and find I’m learning heaps and I get it done, which feels very satisfying. Other times I’m bashing my head up against a wall, but that’s part of the fun. I may not be the best person for the job, but I’m the best person here for the job.
