Arrival in Dakar

This morning the Africa Mercy arrived safely in Dakar, Senegal after sailing over 2,000 miles from Douala, Cameroon. The sail was smooth and we saw lots of sea life. Thank you to all the men and women who kept the ship sailing on this journey.

The Africa Mercy is in Dakar for a few days before continuing its journey to Las Palmas in the Canary Islands. The purpose of this brief stop is to prepare for our 2019 Field Service in Senegal. There are several Mercy Ships leaders that will join Warrie in welcoming the President of Senegal to the Africa Mercy during this time. This visit also allows the crew to have a brief break before our busy shipyard phase.
