In many parts of the world, babies are carried on their mommies’ backs, held securely in place by a piece of fabric. Often, Africa Mercy patients have baby brothers and sisters who are around during recovery. The moms help each other out whenever there’s a need, turning the hospital ward into a big, extended family! Nurses take turns practicing the art of multitasking…and mothering!
