Aminata
Aminata should be too young to feel shame. But at only eight years old, her height and build resembles that of her four year old cousins due to malnutrition. Ashamed of the way she ate, she refused to eat in public where other children could see and mock her. Instead she would nibble on left overs that were placed around the house for her to find. Here at the Africa Mercy we hope to heal more than just her cleft lip as we show her that she is beautiful even before her surgery!
