Hope Rekindled

For 21-year-old Papa, being the eldest at home comes with a sense of responsibility that he takes seriously. He prides himself on being able to help his parents and support his younger siblings.

So when a tumor began growing on his face a few years ago, he feared that the looming uncertainty of his health would impact not only his future but his family. “I didn’t think I’d be able to get help anywhere,” he says. But Papa heard about the #GlobalMercy and hope for his future was rekindled. He recently boarded the ship in Dakar and has received free surgery to remove the tumor.
